How fast the nozzle moves throughout the print job. Bambu Studio allows you to customize various aspects of speed, from the speed when printing different line types, to the acceleration and travel speeds.
Most likely many of these settings have sensible defaults and don’t need to be modified.
Initial speed for concentric prints
You may want to reduce the “initial layer infill” speed to match the “initial layer” (outer) speed for prints like concentric parts, where the inner fill doesn’t touch in the initial outer wall.
In the “Preview” page you can visualize the speed setting:
Printing Speed Reduction
The printer may reduce its speed in a few scenarios, when printing:
- the initial layer: to ensure proper bed adhesion
- overhangs: the more the current layer overhangs from the previous one (in %), generally the slower the speed
- tiny layers: to ensure that the previous layer of filament has sufficiently cooled before printing the next layer on top of it
- bridges: to prevent sagging
